A most stunning performance indeed
Those going to see Go West expecting a trip down memory lane may be a little dismayed at this one. After opening with rapturous applause to 'S.O.S.', both halves of the set mainly consisted of album songs and cover versions. This aside, the performance was totally superb and at times even had us wondering if it realy was 'live' it was that good. Peter Cox has a very strong voice and after last night certainly wins the title of 'Sexiest Male'. That man literally oozes pheromones and boy can he move his body! What's more, he knows it too and played up to the audience really well. Richard Drummie did nearly all of the talking, Mr Cox seeming to shy away from the audience when not actually singing. They did the most excellent cover of 'Bad Case Of Lovin' You' which they dedicated to the late Robert Palmer. From what I can remember they only played 'S.O.S' 'Goodbye Girl' and 'King Of Wishful Thinking' and 'Faithful' as tracks people 'knew'. Two more tracks off the 'Indian Summer' LP 'The Sun And The Moon', 'What You Won't Do For Love' and everyone was going mad! 'We Close Our Eyes' was left right to the end of their second encore and was every bit worth waiting for. The rest of the band played excellently and the whole gig was well worth seeing.
Walvis - you'd have loved it!
